The University of Mary sponsored a 5:01 Social for the Network on Wednesday, April 15. Due to a recent grass fire that threatened the University, the YPN is very grateful that the University went unharmed and was able to host the social. Approximately 25 people were in attendance. The social was held in the Gary Tharaldson School of Business and we were treated to free appetizers and beverages. After some time for socializing, there were presentations given by various speakers from the University and the Network.
One topic of discussion was the University’s change to become a year-round campus, having three semesters a year instead of two. With this change students can now earn a bachelor’s degree in three years and a master’s degree in four years. Another topic of discussion that especially appeals to young professionals was the University’s masters programs. Fellow YPer Matt Moen spoke about how easy it is to apply and be accepted into the masters programs. There were some great door prizes given away which included two season passes to Marauder athletics, a Marauder’s apparel package, two tickets to the Medora Musical and Bully Pulpit, and an autographed Jerry Anderson print of the winner’s choice. Fellow YPer Molly Herrington, who helped organize this event, gave a final thank you to University of Mary for hosting us and for continuing to be a great business partner.
