Morlok AlexisName: Alexis Morlok

Place of Employment: Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson Engineering

Job Title: Civil Engineer

Years with Company: 2.5

Hometown: Bismarck, ND

Role in the YP Network: Service Team

What does the committee feel he/she contributes to YPN?
(Statement by Team Co-leads)

Alexis has been very involved with the Service Team since joining the network in 2009. She is passionate about volunteering and the impact it has on her as well as the community. Recently, she coordinated volunteers to help serve the Riverside Harvest dinner. This event is special for Alexis because it was her first experience with YP and it provided an opportunity to see first-hand the difference that can be made in a short amount of time by just a few people. In addition to Riverside Harvest, Alexis has been part of our Habitat for Humanity project as well as Relay for Life, Papa’s Pumpkin Patch, Salvation Army Christmas Meal, Teenage Makeover and many others.

Why do you feel it is important to be part of the network?
The Network is a great opportunity to meet people. I joined the service group because I wanted the volunteer in the community and thought it would be a great opportunity to volunteer at a variety of locations with other individuals my age.

How do you spend your free time?
Free time? I enjoy nature and being outdoors. I most enjoy physical activity especially running.

Are you involved in other organizations in the community?
I am a leader for a local 4-H club and volunteer though my church.

What is your favorite quote?
All growth depends on activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work. – Calvin Coolidge

The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me. – Ayn Rand
