Meet Rob Nagle

Posted by Kari Pollert on Wednesday, September 27th, 2017 in Latest News | Comments (0)

DSC_1017Meet Rob Nagle, Mortgage Loan Originator at The Mortgage Compnay. In his role at The Mortgage Company, Rob embodies values the YPN Entrepreneaur Team promotes in supporting Bismarck/Mandan’s entrepreneurial spirit. Rob regularly attends team meetings and helped
facilitate the E-Among Us with The Bismarck Magazine this past May. He also served on this year’s Cinco Planning Committee and is a member of the Social Team. Rob provides the E-Team with valuable connections for potential future events.

Rob feels that being a part of the YPN gives him  the opportunity to do things that are bigger than himself. “When like-minded people come together, they can accomplish so much more! I feel the YPN gives a voice to the young professionals in our community.”

His advice for other young professionals? Don’t wait – today is the day to be your best! “It is so easy to look back and see what you could have done differently. Instead, look forward and beyond to strive for what you can do better.” On a different note, Rob also states the importance of credit for young professionals. “Credit is one of the most common issues I see in my industry. It can be anyone, but for young professionals it is crucial to start off on the right financial path. All too often I see people that find themselves on the wrong side of financial stability. Talk to someone that can help and answer questions before you make a credit blunder.”

This ambidextrous (yes, Rob uses his left hand for fine motor skills and his right for sports) professional spends his free time wiht this wife, Medora, their sons, Krew and Knox, and their two dogs. He enjoys all sports and being outdoors hunting, fishing, campaing and hiking.

Investing in herself and the community

Posted by Kari Pollert on Thursday, June 8th, 2017 in Latest News | Comments (0)

1Meet Kate Black, who “invests in herself” and carries with her a growth mindset. A Bismarck native, Kate has found herself very involved in the community. She is vice president at a third generation and family-owned company, InlandOil and Gas for over six years. She is associated with Riverwood Partners and Black Family Holdings, both real estate companies, and is the owner of Graphics by K8. Kate is also the vice president and education co-chair of the Landman’s Association of North Dakota, serves on several committees with the North Dakota Petroleum Council, volunteers for Junior Achievement and many other local charities and organizations.

Kate has been an active YP member who has been a valuable member of the Professional Development, Entrepreneur and Service teams and heir respective events as well as the “Stepping Up” program. For Kate, the YPN helps fulfill her curiosity of other industries and ideas by bringing together a diverse group of people who are like minded in their desire to learn and contribute to something greater than themselves.

A mantra Kate follows is “Invest in Yourself.” 2She believes it is important to have a growth mindset. She tells other young professionals, “Never stop learning, growing, and expanding yourself personally and professionally. Seek out mentors, be curious, and ask questions!”

When not hard at work or volunteering, Kate’s time is centered around her husband and two daughters (with a third on the way). She loves anything sports related and especially enjoys her time on the river in the summer.

Jamie Jackson

Name: Jamie Jackson

Where are you from: Lewistown, Montana

Place of Employment: Basin Electric Power Cooperative

Job Title: Network Security Analyst

How long you have been in the network: 3 years

Fun fact about yourself: Between the ages of 8-13 I attended a summer camp each year for kids with Asthma. It was called…wait for it…Camp Huff ‘n Puff (really!). Over the years I: had an ex-con counselor, asked a girl to the dance via a note, and during a game of frisbee golf got into the only “fight” I’ve ever been in which resulted in a week’s worth of KP (kitchen patrol)!

Vote for the next Vice President at the Cinco Annual Meeting and Anniversary Celebration on May 4, 2017. RSVP today!
