Bismarck-Mandan YP Network Congratulates Newest Vice President: Kenzie Meide

Posted by Tiffany Barth on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 in Latest News | Comments (0)

The Bismarck-Mandan YPN is excited to announce our newest vice president – Kenzie Meide! Learn more about Kenzie below

Where are you from? Fairmount, ND
Place of Employment: Arvig Media
Job Title: Media Account Executive
Fun Fact(s) about you: I have my black belt in TaeKwonDo. I played basketball at the University of Minnesota-Crookston I love the outdoors-camping, hiking, hunting, boating, you name it. I am married and have a golden retriever puppy.
How long have you been in the YPN? 3 years
What is your involvement like within the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network (YPN)? My involvement started by attending team meetings and social events. Soon after joining, I became a professional development co-lead, which I have continued to do. I like planning and organizing events for members as well as attending as many others as I can.
Why do you want to be the Vice President of the YPN? I want to be Vice President because I like helping people and motivating others. I’m excited to work with the board on planning, organizing events as well as developing the network.
How has being in the YP Network impacted you personally and professionally? When I moved to Bismarck, I didn’t know many people. YPN has allowed me to interact and meet with so many people that I wouldn’t have come across otherwise. I have gained new friendships and mentors too! Another reason I initially joined YPN was part of my job involves networking and promoting Arvig’s brand. YPN has allowed me to get my name out there both in person and virtually. Being on the board has developed my leadership and team building skills as well.
How can YPN progress to add more value to its members? With these uncertain and ever changing times, YPN needs to focus on quality over quantity. Being able to have socially distant and virtual events while having fun should be the focus. When possible, incorporating our partners and their members can help add value as well.
What strengths as a leader will you bring as VP of the YPN? I enjoy leading and motivating people. I’m not afraid to “rally the troops” when it comes to events or projects as I believe two heads are better than one. I pride myself in communicating and keeping my word when I commit to things. My goal is to support the board and leadership team to the best of my abilities.

YPN Selects TR4 Heart & Soul as 2021 Non-Profit Partner

Posted by Katie Nehl on Wednesday, October 7th, 2020 in Latest News | Comments (0)

The Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network (YPN) is pleased to announce that it will be partnering with TR4 Heart & Soul for one year, from November 2020 through October 2021.

The partnership, which comes about as part of the YPN strategic plan, will allow TR4 Heart & Soul the opportunity to connect with young professionals from around Bismarck-Mandan while providing YPN members with service opportunities throughout the year. The YPN will direct all fundraising and most volunteer efforts for the next year toward the organization.

TR4 Heart & Soul’s mission seeks to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities through the heart and soul of a horse. They offer programs of therapeutic riding for individuals of all ages, along with a Books in the Barn program.

YPN will kick-off it’s support for TR4 Heart & Soul by volunteering at the Halloween & Hot Dogs with the Horses event on Friday, October 30th from 4:00-7:00pm. We are looking for 12 volunteers for this evening event, with one or two volunteers to arrive at 3:30pm for training. If you are interested in volunteering, please email service@ypnetwork.org.

The Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network accepted applications from network members in August and selected three non-profit finalists. Each of the three finalist organizations had the chance to give a short presentation to the YPN Leadership Team in early October and YPN leadership ultimately selected TR 4 Heart & Soul.

“We are so excited to have this partnership with the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network,” said Katie Oakland, TR 4 Heart & Soul Founder.

The YPN would like to thank all the members who nominated non-profit organizations. To learn more about TR4 Heart & Soul, visit www.therapeuticriding4has.org.
