Amy Brown

Name:  Amy Brown

Place of Employment: Bismarck State College (BSC)

Job Title: Administrative Assistant – BSC Foundation

Years with Company: 5

Hometown: Williston, ND

Role in the YP Network: E-Team Member and Business Partner Liaison

What does the committee feel he/she contributes to YPN?   (Statement by Team Co-leads)

Amy has done an outstanding job as a member of the E-team, always stepping up to help out with organizing our events and coming up with new program ideas.  She played a big role in putting together the YP Roundtable with Lee Gurke and Virginia Wood this past July and has done a great job being a partner liaison.  Thank you Amy for all that you do for the E-team and the network!

Why do you feel it is important to be part of the network?

Being a part of the YPN gives you a sense of community and camaraderie.  It opens yourself up to new possibilities and challenges you to step outside your comfort zone. It equips you with resources and training to help you excel in your career. Being a member of the YPN gives you opportunities you wouldn’t have otherwise. In every aspect of life, “it helps to know people”!

How do you spend your free time?

I love spending time with my husband Andrew and our happy and active two year old, Alexia. I enjoy gardening, playing with our two dogs, girls’ nights with my girlfriends, reading books on my Kindle Fire and watching Castle.

Are you involved in other organizations in the community?

I am active on several committees at BSC including the Employee Recognition Dinner Committee, Staff Senate and the Embracing Diversity Team.

What is your favorite quote?

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” – Theodore Roosevelt
