Member Spotlight: Entrepreneur, Alex Davidson

Posted by Young Professionals on Wednesday, February 6th, 2013 in Latest News, Member Spotlight | Comments (1)

Alex DavidsonName:  Alex Davidson

Age:  25

Hometown:  Bismarck

Education:  B.A. in Film Production and Minor in English Writing

Name of Business:  Brash Consulting and Clothing

Business Type (partnership, sole proprietorship, etc.):  LLC

How did you get started?:   I’ve always been interested in men’s fashion. However, once I entered the professional world I started dressing more business appropriate. I liked dressing that way. I think at a certain time of life it’s time to dress like an adult and put the sneakers and t-shirts away. My interest in professional clothing continued to grow and spilled over onto my friends. After a while I realized there is a huge desire for men to conveniently build a wardrobe, and also for their clothing to be customized and personal. I loved the idea of helping manage men’s wardrobes and get them to look their best with custom made clothing.

What I do every day:   Brash provides image consultation and custom made clothing. I meet with clients in their home or office to discuss their wardrobe needs and take body measurements. Then, I design clothing that is individualized for their lifestyle as well as custom made from the body measurements for a perfect fit. A typical day for me consists of sending out fliers, advertising, meeting with clients for consultations, placing orders and talking with my manufacturer, meeting for final fittings, and other general office work.

Successes (best part):   Seeing how happy a client is when they first put on a suit and shirt that was individually crafted for them and no one else. I feel great when they look great.

Challenges:   It’s a new venture, so spreading the word and generating awareness of my products and services.

Advice for other YPs:   Don’t be afraid to pursue your own ideas.

Alex is a great friend as well as passionate about his business. I highly recommend men AND women contact him anytime you’re considering expanding your professional wardrobe. Some people don’t think they deserve a personalized fitting wardrobe, but you don’t know the difference until you try it. He will get you into an outfit that fits great, looks outstanding and has you glowing with pride!
