Margo is a dedicated member of the network and is an important member of our Service Team. It is clear that Margo cares a great deal for the patients of Bismarck Cancer Center (BCC) and she has a strong commitment to our current YPN non-profit partner, Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation (BCCF). Margo believes strongly in her professional work at BCC and her philanthropic efforts for BCCF are a wonderful example for our Service Team members to follow.
Why do you feel it is important to be part of the YP Network? I think it’s a great way to become more involved in the community. I’ve met a lot of great people in the network and developed some lasting friendships. Not only does it help you grow in your career, but also brings out some qualities you didn’t know you had!
Are you involved in other organizations in the community? If so, to what extent and why is this important to you? I stay busy helping with the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation. The foundation has a ton of different fundraisers and activities we do throughout the year to assist our patients. It’s amazing thing to be a part of.
What professional advice do you have for other young professionals? DO WHAT YOU LOVE! If you aren’t passionate about your career, you won’t truly shine. Have patience, be ready to work hard and do it without complaining. You’ll get where you want and deserve to be in due time.
How do you spend your free time? I used to do a lot more running, but currently I’ve been busy planning our wedding, spending time with family & friends, and of course with my fiancé, our 3 dogs and 4 horses. I really just like to enjoy life!
What is your favorite quote?
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” Mother Teresa
Fun Fact(s)
*I have a degree in Biology and did wildlife research before getting my degree in Radiation Therapy
*I was lucky enough to live on an island in Kenya doing volunteer work for 2 months. During that time I lived in a Muslim community where we did not have electricity or running water. It was quite humbling and eye opening. It was an experience I’ll never forget!!
Thanks for having me come in for the roundtable.
