Role in the YP Network: New member
Why do you feel it is important to be part of the YP Network? I feel it is important to be part of the YP network for networking with other young professionals and people in the Bismarck Mandan community. I think to be in a community with others going through similar experiences as a young professional encourages one’s professional development.
Are you involved in other organizations in the community? If so, to what extent and why is this important to you? I am an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Lincoln. I am a volunteer for PLC Coffee kiosk on the 1st and 3rd weekends of the month. PLC Coffee gives back to the community of Lincoln and it is rewarding doing something I enjoy that also helps out people and organizations in need.
What professional advice do you have for other young professionals? Network and make connections where you are now. Having mentors that are willing to share experiences and guidance makes entering the workforce a little smoother and having good references never hurts!
How do you spend your free time? In my free time I love sewing and making mittens with my mom and sisters! We started a little business 5 years ago and it helps the winters go by faster.
What is your favorite quote? “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”– Arthur Ashe
Fun Fact(s): I frequently get confused for one of the high schoolers while I am at work.
