On Saturday, April 28, 12 Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network members went all out on a stationary bike for 20-minute shifts to raise money for a good cause at the 16th annual Medcenter One Great American Bike Race. The YP team raised $2,194, which put it as one of the top 50 fundraising teams, gaurenteeing the network a spot in next year’s race. Overall, the event raised more than $330,000 – a record by more than $34,000 – to help area families who have children and young adults with cerebral palsy or related disorders.
This is the first year the YP Service Team has sponsored a team at the race. Derek Hall was YP’s fastest rider, as he covered 6.71 miles in his 20-minute heat. Tim Flagstad, who captained the team, raised the most money individually, as he brought in $325. The bulk of the team’s fundraising total came from its trivia fundraiser hosted by Scott Wild. That event raised $1,200. Full results are available at http://medcenterone.com/gabr/results.asp.
Thank you to all the riders and to everyone who helped raise money.
