The Crystal Reid Excellence Award (click here to nominate a deserving member)
This award is presented to a member of the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals who goes the extra mile in service to the Network, the Bismarck-Mandan Community and is full of bountiful enthusiasm. They are a true inspiration to others.
Sakakawea Award (for one who helps)
Sakakawea is a ND legend and carries an important place in American History. She provided guidance, direction, assistance, knowledge, resources, and connections to the Lewis and Clark expedition a century ago during their expedition to explore the Louisiana Purchase. This award goes to the YP member who has selflessly given time and commitment to serve others and become a Sakakawea, one who helps.
Great Plains Award (for leadership and innovation)
The Great Plains award goes to an individual that has been the most innovative and forward-thinking in development and implementation of new programs, events, activities, or environments for the network.
Pioneer Award (for sacrifice)
The Pioneer Award goes to the YPN member who has gone above and beyond the call of duty for the network. It is important to have such individuals as members of the network because the work they do is not always front page news yet still vital to the success of the network. These people are always up to the task, and push forth the mission of the network with courage and optimism.
Theodore Roosevelt Award (for persistence and dedication)
This award is named after the former American President who spent about three years in ND as a ranchman. During this time, he experienced the adventures of life on the frontier firsthand. His energy and enthusiasm made up for any lack knowledge he had as a greenhorn. Persistence and dedication are important ingredients for getting things done, and this attribute is such an important quality in a volunteer network such as ours. Just as Teddy Roosevelt’s persistence and dedication overcame the obstacles of the prairie a century ago, this YPN member has proved persistence and demonstrated dedication in overcoming the challenges of today’s world to deliver on the mission of the Bismarck-Mandan YPN.
