On Saturday, April 8, a team of 12 YPN members participated in the 21st Annual Sanford Health Foundation Great American Bike Race (GABR) at Legacy High School.
The GABR is a stationary bike race and fundraiser that involved 105 teams of 12 riders biking for 20 minutes each. All proceeds of GABR in Bismarck support local children and their families with resources that go above and beyond insurance coverage, such as medical devices and the purchase of wheelchairs, communication devices and adaptive tricycles for children and young adults. Over the past 20 years, nearly $3 million has been raised for children through GABR!
In February the YPN team was formed and chose the name “Orange Crush” and began individual fundraising efforts with a team goal to raise $1,200. The team raised a total of $2,165! Special recognition to Matthew Schaible for raising $650 of this total. Outstanding effort Matt!
On race day, Orange Crush riders rode a total of 76.02 miles, which ranks 30th out of the 105 total teams participating. Great work, Orange Crush!
